This technology features an excavation unit equipped with a hollow first auger screw and a second auger screw inserted into its core. By using a restraint system to secure the first auger screw—already embedded in the ground—to the mobile base, the equipment prevents movement during the drilling process of the second auger screw.
While backhoe-mounted drilling screws offer excellent versatility and site accessibility, they often suffer from the front wheels lifting due to ground reaction forces during excavation. This instability causes the drilling direction to deviate, compromising the quality of pile foundations or soil nailing. Furthermore, as reaction forces increase with drilling depth, there are significant limitations to how deep these systems can operate.
This technology utilizes a pair of parallel bars that grip both sides of the screw between two restraint nuts threaded onto the outer surface of the first auger screw. These bars are secured to the mobile base via an extension bar and connecting member, allowing the first auger screw embedded in the ground to absorb the ground reaction force. As a result, the equipment maintains its drilling trajectory even at great depths while remaining mobile. Applicable to pre-drilled pile foundation construction, soil-cement grouting in soft ground, and soil nailing for slope stabilization, this system enables precise, deep-depth excavation using compact mobile equipment.
