This technology is a manufacturing method for granule tea with enhanced antioxidant properties, created by mixing lion's mane mushroom powder with a hot-water concentrated extract of Phellinus linteus, a type of medicinal mushroom, then granulating, drying, gelatinizing, and pulverizing the mixture.
Lion's mane and Phellinus linteus are medicinal mushrooms known for their anti-inflammatory/nerve-regenerating and anti-cancer/immune-boosting effects, respectively. However, conventional lion's mane granules required the addition of fructose, such as corn syrup, to bind the particles together. This necessitated the inclusion of non-mushroom additives and made it difficult to simultaneously enhance the tea's flavor and functionality.
This technology allows the concentrated Phellinus linteus extract, obtained through long-term hot-water extraction, to act as a binder, enabling granulation without additional additives. The granules are low-temperature dried and briefly high-temperature gelatinized to enhance flavor. Combining these two mushrooms significantly increases polyphenol and beta-glucan content, strengthening antioxidant effects. Applicable to portable stick-type mushroom tea, antioxidant health supplement ingredients, and processed specialties for mushroom farms, it allows for the convenient consumption of both medicinal mushrooms in a single cup while enabling a clean, sugar-free product composition.
This invention was developed through support from the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs for the development of high-value-added processed foods with immune-boosting properties, based on the stable production of Phellinus linteus.
