Composition for increasing milk yield in dairy cows by enhancing mammary epithelial cell proliferation using chemokine CCL2

This technology is a composition that increases milk yield by promoting the proliferation of mammary epithelial cells, which form the mammary glands, using the chemokine CCL2 as an active ingredient. Because it is based on a protein naturally produced in the body, it carries a lower risk of toxicity and side effects compared to chemical synthetics.

Milk production is directly linked to livestock growth and human nutrition, and while maintaining the proliferative capacity of mammary epithelial cells is key to increasing milk yield, materials capable of directly enhancing this have been limited. Furthermore, persistent inflammation in the mammary glands reduces casein and calcium levels, degrading milk quality; however, the specific role of CCL2 in mammary epithelial cell proliferation and inflammatory responses has remained unknown.

This technology is designed to boost mammary epithelial cell proliferation by activating PI3K/AKT and MAPK signaling pathways, while reducing the expression of endoplasmic reticulum stress-induced proteins such as IRE1α, ATF6α, PERK, eIF2α, and GADD153. It can be applied to dairy feed additives, milk yield improvement programs for dairy farms, and functional animal health products for mammary gland care, helping to reduce stress in mammary cells while increasing milk production per cow.
