This technology features a smart safety fire door equipped with an airbag recessed into the side of the door facing the frame. Upon pressing a button, an inflation device injects high-pressure gas to expand the airbag, effectively sealing the door gaps. A display and speaker linked to fire sensors provide alerts, while a control unit sends fire notifications to registered devices.
When trapped in a room during a fire, the only option has traditionally been to block gaps with wet towels or clothing while waiting for rescue. Smoke and toxic gases seeping through these gaps are the primary causes of casualties. Existing fire-safe evacuation booths are bulky and impractical for homes or hotel rooms where space efficiency is critical.
This technology utilizes an insertion groove in the door frame connected to a slide hole, allowing a fire-resistant plate to move and seal tightly against the door as the airbag expands. The inflation system consists of a high-pressure gas cartridge and an actuator, with pairs of airbags and inflators installable on both sides of the door. Suitable for hotel rooms, nursing facilities, apartments, and boarding houses, it provides a way to protect a room from smoke with a single button, buying vital time for rescue without needing a separate evacuation space.
