This technology features a pair of couple robots, one for each user, that convert detected user information into data to analyze emotional states. The robots then transmit this data to each other to trigger appropriate physical responses. Equipped with an interface, processor, communication module, and output unit, these robots exchange diverse information including voice, facial expressions, gestures, body temperature, pulse, touch, text, and video.
Existing AI speakers and social robots have been limited to 1:1 interaction between a single user and the device. There has been a lack of technical solutions that allow people in different locations to share or convey their emotions in real time.
This technology sends a shared card containing conversation details to the partner robot. If an emotion is misidentified, the system re-evaluates it using the shared card, categorizing it into joy, pleasure, anger, or sadness, and learns from the accumulated data. It analyzes voice pitch and tone, identifies body parts touched via video, and prioritizes information based on type, size, and scheduling, while deferring detailed data like diaries or conversations. When the two robots are joined via latches or magnets, they form a heart shape and output a combined signal. Applicable to social robots for long-distance couples and families, emotional care for seniors living alone, and educational toys for children, this system bridges emotional distance by conveying unspoken moods and health signals.
This invention was developed with support from the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy for the development of next-generation robot design convergence technology for near-future innovative robot services.
