This technology is an input power control device for wireless charging systems using multiple wireless power transmitters. It adjusts the DC voltage applied to each transmitter so that the ratio of mutual inductance to coil current for each transmitting coil is equalized. It achieves this by measuring the input resistance of each transmitter and adjusting them to a uniform value.
In wireless charging systems where multiple transmitters send power to a single receiver, varying mutual inductance between each transmitting coil and the receiving coil often leads to unbalanced power distribution and increased losses. While matching the ratio of mutual inductance to coil current is essential for maximum efficiency, there has been a lack of control devices capable of achieving this in real time.
Instead of measuring mutual inductance, which is difficult to track directly, this technology adjusts the DC voltage to match the easily measurable input resistance to a reference value, thereby equalizing the reflected resistance of each transmitting coil and automatically aligning current ratios. Applied to LCC inverter-based transmitters, it can search for the point of maximum efficiency by adjusting the reference resistance. It is suitable for multi-coil wireless charging pads, EV wireless charging, and charging stations for robots and IoT devices, ensuring that power distribution between transmitters is automatically optimized even when the receiver's position changes.
