This technology is a fire-suppression blind featuring a roller that stores extinguishing fluid and a drive motor installed in a frame fixed to a structure. When the bag-type flame-retardant member wound around the roller is deployed, the extinguishing fluid flows down through the interior of the member and is sprayed via nozzles on the bottom discharge rod.
When a fire occurs on the first floor of a piloti-style building, oxygen is drawn in from all sides, and the chimney effect causes flames to rise rapidly and spread inside the building. Often, these areas lack dedicated fire-suppression systems, leading to significant damage. Existing fire-spread prevention blinds only prevent fire from catching onto the screen itself, failing to effectively block or delay the spread of flames and smoke.
With this technology, when a fire sensor detects a fire, the motor deploys the flame-retardant member, and extinguishing fluid is supplied into the roller through a supply pipe in the tubular rotating shaft, then sprayed through the nozzles. As the heat-shrinkable member contracts, it crinkles the flame-retardant member, changing the nozzle spray angle to combat the flames, while a flexible member on the frame seals against the roller to block smoke movement. This system can be applied to entrances, parking areas, and openings in piloti-style houses, villas, and commercial buildings, helping to slow the spread of fire and smoke during the initial stages and providing residents with more time to evacuate.
