This technology is a shock prevention method and system for wireless charging power transmitters. It utilizes a dummy load switch, consisting of a resistor and a switch connected in series between the V-rail of the power transmission coil and ground. When power supply is interrupted due to overvoltage, it discharges the residual V-rail voltage in two stages, stabilizes it, and then resumes charging.
During magnetic induction wireless charging, transmission power is frequently interrupted and resumed when a device moves out of alignment and then returns. If the residual voltage on the V-rail is applied directly during this process, it can cause an electrical shock to the receiver due to a sudden surge in supply voltage. Furthermore, there has been a lack of consistent methods to control this across different transmitters.
This technology allows the V-rail to naturally drop to a lower limit voltage before connecting it to ground via a dummy load for further discharge. Once the voltage falls below a reference level, the DC-DC buck-boost converter is stopped, and power supply resumes after a voltage reset and stabilization period. Applicable to WPC-standard smartphone wireless charging pads and automotive chargers, it prevents electrical damage to receiving devices through software control alone, regardless of the transmitter type.
