Melanin-inhibiting whitening composition based on a combination of guaiacol, phytol, and carvacrol

This technology is a composition that achieves skin whitening effects by combining three active ingredients: guaiacol, phytol, and carvacrol. It can be utilized in various forms, including cosmetics, topical skin applications, dietary supplements, and quasi-drugs.

When skin is continuously exposed to external stimuli such as UV rays, the expression of MITF and tyrosinase increases via α-MSH signaling, leading to excessive melanin production and hyperpigmentation. There has been a persistent lack of safe whitening agents that can effectively inhibit the complex melanin synthesis pathways involving multiple enzymes.

By combining these three ingredients in specific ratios, this technology reduces the expression of MITF and tyrosinase and effectively inhibits α-MSH-induced melanin production. It is also characterized by its safety and low risk of side effects. It can be applied to whitening skincare, inner-beauty supplements, and quasi-drugs for hyperpigmentation, allowing for a comprehensive whitening product line that includes both topical and ingestible solutions.

‍

Key Features:
  • A skin-whitening cosmetic composition containing guaiacol, phytol, and carvacrol, or their cosmetically acceptable salts, as active ingredients
  • A cosmetic composition where the active ingredients inhibit the expression of MITF or tyrosinase and suppress α-MSH-induced melanin production
  • A cosmetic composition containing 20–200 parts by weight of phytol and carvacrol each per 100 parts by weight of guaiacol, with active ingredients comprising 0.0001–20 wt% of the total weight
  • A skin-whitening dietary supplement composition and a quasi-drug composition for improving hyperpigmentation, formulated as tablets, granules, powders, or capsules using these three ingredients
