Whitening composition containing anithiactin A as an active ingredient and a method for producing said anithiactin A

Listed on

Whitening ingredient based on the natural product anithiactin A that inhibits melanin production

This technology is a composition for whitening and improving hyperpigmentation that uses anithiactin A, or its salts, hydrates, or solvates isolated from natural sources, as an active ingredient. It inhibits melanin production to prevent or alleviate pigmentation such as melasma, freckles, and solar lentigo.

Existing whitening ingredients like kojic acid, arbutin, hydroquinone, and vitamin C derivatives often have weak efficacy or associated cytotoxicity, leading to a lack of ingredients that are both safe and effective. While the existence of anithiactin A was known, it had not been utilized as an ingredient because its whitening efficacy had not been studied.

This technology offers a naturally derived substance that effectively inhibits melanin production even at low concentrations of 1–100 ppm, reducing concerns about the toxicity of existing ingredients. It can be applied to functional whitening cosmetics, topical treatments for melasma and age spots, and inner-beauty products for skin tone improvement, providing a differentiated candidate for ingredient companies seeking new whitening actives.
