This technology is a pharmaceutical composition for wound healing and a cosmetic composition for wound improvement that coats Lactobacillus brevis or plantarum probiotics with iron ions and tannic acid, combined with polyvinyl alcohol and mannitol. It also provides the composition in the form of a dressing.
Wound healing materials must reduce epithelialization time, prevent pain and bleeding during replacement, and minimize scarring and secondary infections. While probiotics have been reported to be beneficial for wound healing in terms of antibacterial properties and angiogenesis, their stability during manufacturing and storage has made it difficult to incorporate them directly into dressings.
This technology uses a coating layer formed by metal ions and tannic acid to encapsulate the bacterial cells, maintaining viability during the manufacturing process, while using polymers and sugar alcohols to ensure physical properties such as elasticity and swelling rate. This results in a form that is easy to apply and remove, aiding in wound recovery. It can be applied to moist dressings, burn treatment patches, and wound improvement cosmetics, enabling the use of live bacterial materials in practical product forms.
