Composition for Whitening and Improving Pigmentary Disorders Using 7DG Compounds

This technology features a composition containing 7-desacetoxy-6,7-dihydrogedunin (7DG) or its salts as an active ingredient to prevent, improve, and treat pigmentary disorders such as melasma, freckles, and age spots. It is formulated for use in pharmaceutical, food, cosmetic, and quasi-drug whitening products.

Existing whitening products and treatments for pigmentary disorders, such as hydroquinone, retinoids, and tyrosinase inhibitors, have been associated with side effects including mutations, toxicity, and ochronosis. Consequently, there has been a clear need for alternative whitening agents that offer high efficacy without these adverse effects.

This technology provides a safe whitening effect, as 7DG effectively inhibits tyrosinase activity and melanin synthesis without causing human toxicity. It can be applied to functional whitening cosmetics, treatments for pigmentary disorders, and inner beauty products, serving as a next-generation whitening ingredient that resolves concerns regarding the side effects of existing agents.
