Deep-tissue phototherapy device using hollow microneedle light delivery

This technology is a microneedle treatment device that uses a vertical reciprocating drive to extend microneedles, creating micro-pores in the epidermis and delivering light directly into these pores through internal channels. A primary light source above the needle assembly and a secondary light source at the base of the device deliver light to the interior and surface of the skin simultaneously.

Low-level laser therapy has historically been limited by the difficulty of efficiently delivering light to deeper tissue layers, as it only treats the skin surface. Furthermore, microneedle-only procedures often fail to allow sufficient penetration of drugs or cosmetics into the dermis, limiting their skin-improvement efficacy.

This technology optimizes light penetration by matching needle length to the target depth and allows for interchangeable light sources and needle assemblies based on treatment goals. It enhances light delivery to deep tissue while simultaneously promoting the absorption of topicals through the micro-pores. Applicable to dermatological scar and acne treatment as well as home-care skin rejuvenation, it offers a differentiated, combined-modality solution that performs laser therapy and microneedling in a single session.

Key Features:
  • A drive mechanism installed inside the main body that operates with vertical reciprocating motion, and a primary light source detachably installed beneath it
  • A needle assembly featuring multiple microneedles with longitudinal through-holes, which is detachably coupled beneath the primary light source
  • A structure where the needle assembly extends to form multiple pores in the epidermis, allowing primary light to pass through the channels and into the pores
  • A configuration equipped with a secondary light source that irradiates the skin surface from the base of the device, with the drive mechanism adjusting the needle extension range to control pore depth
