This technology is a manufacturing method that uses bittern, collected by centrifuging sea salt to remove solids, as an ingredient for anti-wrinkle cosmetics. The resulting bittern promotes collagen production and provides antioxidant and moisturizing effects.
As the market for anti-wrinkle functional cosmetics grows, there is a demand for new active ingredients, but many existing ones are synthetic, raising concerns about side effects. Mineral-rich bittern is often discarded as a byproduct of sea salt production or used only for simple purposes, limiting its application as a cosmetic material.
This technology uses a simple centrifugation process with specific rotation speeds, temperatures, and times to obtain bittern with consistent efficacy, enhancing cell migration and collagen production. It can be applied to anti-aging creams, mists, and moisturizing toners, allowing for the low-cost production of safe, anti-wrinkle materials from food-grade sea salt without additional chemical processing.
This invention was developed with research support for the industrialization of sea salt and halophytes from the Ministry of Knowledge Economy.
