This technology features acremonitamide, a novel cyclic pentadepsipeptide produced by the marine sediment-derived fungus Acremonium sp. CNQ-049, and a composition for skin regeneration and wound healing containing it as an active ingredient. It is formulated for pharmaceutical, cosmetic, quasi-drug, and health supplement applications.
When skin suffers damage from wounds, burns, eczema, or stretch marks, internal tissues are exposed to external contaminants and microorganisms. Wound healing is a complex process involving inflammation, proliferation, and remodeling. There has been a lack of novel materials capable of safely accelerating this process while minimizing scarring.
This technology demonstrates that acremonitamide significantly enhances cell migration without cytotoxicity, promotes new tissue formation at wound sites, and markedly reduces scarring. Applicable to wound treatments, regenerative cosmetics, and quasi-drugs, it offers a differentiated, marine-derived peptide ingredient for advanced scar-improvement products.
This invention was developed with support from the Ministry of Science and ICT’s Integrated Omics Research Laboratory for Environmental Respiratory Diseases.
