Hair Growth-Promoting and Anti-Hair Loss Composition Based on Novel Compounds Derived from Chestnut Pericarp

This technology features a composition for improving hair loss that uses compounds of Formula 1, 2, 6, 7, or 8 (including novel compounds) isolated from chestnut pericarp as active ingredients. It may also include compounds of Formula 3, 4, 5, 9, or 10, and can be utilized in cosmetics, topical agents, pharmaceutical compositions, and health functional foods.

Hair loss is a phenomenon where the growth phase of the hair cycle shortens and the number of hairs in the regression and resting phases increases, leading to excessive hair shedding. The population experiencing hair loss is rising rapidly due to stress and lifestyle changes. Existing chemical-based hair loss relief products have limitations in safety and efficacy, creating a demand for natural active ingredients.

This technology prevents and improves hair loss by using compounds derived from chestnut pericarp to stimulate the proliferation of dermal papilla cells, which are essential for hair growth. It can be applied to scalp and hair care products such as hair toners, shampoos, and treatments, allowing for the conversion of natural chestnut shell byproducts into high-value functional ingredients for hair loss.
