This technology features a pharmaceutical composition for promoting implantation that uses naringenin, a polyphenol compound known for its antioxidant, glucose metabolism, and immune-modulating effects, as an active ingredient to enhance the migration and proliferation of trophoblast cells derived from non-human mammals.
Infertility caused by implantation failure has been difficult to resolve even with IVF. While naringenin has been reported to aid uterine development by reacting with estrogen receptors and to regulate preterm birth caused by placental infection, the mechanism for promoting embryo implantation itself had not been studied, and existing implantation-promoting substances were far from being natural plant-based compounds.
This technology is configured to promote cell migration and proliferation by activating PI3K/AKT and ERK1/2 MAPK signaling protein expression in trophoblast cells, thereby increasing implantation efficiency in early pregnancy. The claims focus on pharmaceutical use by specifying the composition for promoting implantation. It can be applied to veterinary drugs for improving sow reproductive performance, drug candidates for recurrent implantation failure, and supplements for in vitro embryo culture, expanding its utility as a multifunctional natural polyphenol material that targets both antioxidant functions and the implantation stage.
This invention was developed with support from the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs for the analysis of gene expression networks by parity in sows and the development of reproductive capacity enhancement technology.
