Highly Conductive Polymer Electrolyte Membrane Containing Imidazole-Based Ionic Liquid

This technology relates to a highly conductive polymer electrolyte membrane that incorporates an imidazole-based ionic liquid.

Conventional polymer electrolyte membranes have faced limitations in stable application to electrochemical devices due to the difficulty of simultaneously achieving high ionic conductivity and mechanical stability.

By utilizing an imidazole-based ionic liquid, this technology can be applied to fuel cell and secondary battery electrolyte membranes to ensure high ionic conductivity and stability.

‍

‍

Key Features:
  • Polymer electrolyte thin film characterized by the inclusion of an imidazole-based ionic liquid
  • Composition based on an imidazole compound where the ionic liquid substituent consists of hydrogen or an alkyl group with 1 to 8 carbon atoms
  • Electrolyte membrane containing a block copolymer comprising sulfonated styrene repeating units and alkylene repeating units
  • Highly conductive electrolyte membrane utilizing an ionic liquid prepared by reacting imidazole or pyrazole with an anion
