Photoelectrochemical water treatment device using a photoanode and counter electrodes

This technology relates to a photoelectrochemical water treatment device in which a light source, a photoanode with an immobilized photoelectrocatalyst, and a plurality of counter electrodes are arranged within a reaction tank.

Conventional water treatment methods have limitations in achieving eco-friendly and efficient processing due to low pollutant degradation efficiency or the requirement for additional chemical agents.

By decomposing pollutants through photoelectrochemical reactions, this technology can be applied to water treatment facilities to eco-friendly enhance treatment efficiency.

‍

‍

Key Features:
  • A reaction tank with an internal space for water treatment reactions and a light source unit disposed therein to generate light of a specific wavelength
  • A photoanode disposed inside the reaction tank, surrounding the outer surface of the light source unit, with a photoelectrocatalyst immobilized on its surface
  • A plurality of counter electrodes disposed inside the reaction tank, spaced apart from the outer surface of the photoanode
  • A photoelectrochemical water treatment device including a DC power supply unit that applies voltage between the photoanode and the counter electrodes
