Hemostatic composition for promoting blood coagulation based on human neutrophil-derived peptides

This technology is a pharmaceutical composition for hemostasis containing a peptide of SEQ ID NO: 2, derived from human neutrophil peptide (HNP), as an active ingredient. This peptide promotes blood coagulation by activating platelet factor 4 and can be implemented in various hemostatic forms, including patches, kits, dressings, and sponges.

Existing biological hemostatic agents based on fibrinogen and thrombin require dry wound sites or thawing after frozen storage, and patch types are difficult to use for extensive bleeding. Furthermore, because they are manufactured from human plasma, there are concerns regarding blood-borne infections and high production costs.

This technology uses a human protein-derived peptide to ensure biocompatibility while inducing rapid hemostasis through blood coagulation activity and platelet activation. It can be applied to surgical aids, hemostatic patches for emergency and field trauma care, and treatments for bleeding disorders such as hemophilia, offering a next-generation hemostatic solution that reduces the infection risks and storage burdens associated with plasma-derived products.
