This technology is a blood pressure measurement method that obtains multiple pseudo-maximum amplitudes by iteratively applying non-parametric bootstrapping to an oscillometric envelope curve, and uses these to estimate systolic/diastolic blood pressure along with confidence intervals. The result with the narrowest confidence interval among those estimated across iteration counts is selected as the final blood pressure value.
While the oscillometric method is non-invasive and convenient, it has been difficult to use in practice because it requires over 100 measurements per subject to obtain confidence intervals for systolic and diastolic blood pressure. Existing bootstrap techniques based on five measurements have suffered from issues such as excessively wide or narrow confidence intervals and directional bias.
By connecting pseudo-maximum amplitudes and pseudo-envelopes to estimate blood pressure and comparing confidence intervals through repeated bootstrapping, this technology provides unbiased confidence intervals and accurate blood pressure values with fewer measurements. It can be applied to home automatic blood pressure monitors, wearable blood pressure monitors, and remote medical biosignal devices, allowing users to obtain reliable blood pressure results without the burden of repeated measurements.
