This technology is a method for manufacturing an electrocatalyst by sequentially depositing an amine-functionalized silicate sol-gel (TPDT) layer and a β-cyclodextrin-functionalized reduced graphene oxide (RGO-CD) sheet onto an electrode, followed by the electrodeposition of gold to grow gold dendrite nanostructures.
Uniformly attaching gold nanostructures to graphene surfaces and controlling their morphology previously required complex or environmentally burdensome processes. Furthermore, enzyme-based sensors have faced limitations in storage and reproducibility due to the inherent instability of enzymes.
This technology utilizes cyclodextrin bound to graphene to induce and control the growth of gold dendrites, achieving synergistic electrochemical catalytic activity for the oxidation of nitrite and glucose. It is manufactured through a simple, low-cost, and eco-friendly process. Applicable to enzyme-free blood glucose sensors, nitrite detection sensors for food and water quality, and fuel cell catalysts, it enables stable and economical analyte detection without the need for enzymes.
