Coating composition for light guide plates forming light-shielding and reflective layers using acrylic polymers and pigments

This technology relates to a coating composition that allows for the simple and easy formation of light-reflective and light-shielding layers on the sides of a light guide plate, providing excellent light-shielding properties, reflectivity, and adhesion. The coating composition includes an acrylic polymer copolymerized from a first monomer containing methyl methacrylate or styrene and a second monomer containing one or more acrylic monomers; a pigment containing metal oxides or metal sulfides; and an organic solvent. It is applied to the sides of a light guide plate and dried to form the light-reflective and light-shielding coating layer.

Existing solutions in this field have faced structural and functional limitations that required improvement.
