Monorail propulsion system for steep curves using a multi-degree-of-freedom bracket

This technology relates to a monorail propulsion system with multiple degrees of freedom and a bogie equipped with the same. More specifically, it concerns a propulsion system and bogie capable of smooth operation on monorails with significant inclines and curves, such as those found in mountainous terrain. The monorail propulsion system of the present invention includes a bracket connecting the propulsion system to the underside of the bogie and a propulsion unit that travels along the monorail. The bracket comprises an upper bracket coupled to the bogie, a rotation axis bracket coupled to the bottom of the upper bracket with a lateral rotation axis at the top to provide rotational freedom, and a side bracket coupled to the top of the propulsion unit with vertical rotation axes on both sides of the rotation axis bracket to provide vertical rotational freedom. The propulsion unit features a main body, a drive unit equipped with a motor and power transmission to provide power to the wheels, and a wheel assembly that receives power from the transmission to roll along the monorail. The monorail bogie of the present invention is characterized by having one or more of these propulsion systems coupled to its underside. Because this propulsion system and bogie can operate smoothly on monorails with severe inclines and curves, it allows for easier installation in challenging environments such as steep, densely forested mountainous terrain or irregular rocky areas by adapting effectively to the landscape.

Existing solutions in this field have faced structural and functional limitations that required improvement.

This technology, as a multi-degree-of-freedom monorail propulsion system and bogie, can be applied to related industries to enhance performance and efficiency.

Key Features:
  • A bracket connecting the propulsion system to the underside of the bogie and a propulsion unit that rolls along the monorail.
  • An upper bracket coupled to the bogie and a rotation axis bracket with a lateral rotation axis at the top to provide rotational freedom.
  • A side bracket coupled to the top of the propulsion unit with vertical rotation axes on both sides of the rotation axis bracket to provide vertical rotational freedom.
  • A propulsion unit including a main body, a drive unit with a motor and power transmission, and a wheel assembly that receives power to roll along the monorail.
