Hybrid TV tuner for identifying and demodulating multiple broadcast standards

This technology is a hybrid TV tuner that receives an RF signal from an antenna and includes: a frequency processing unit that determines whether the RF signal is in NTSC, PAL, SECAM, ATSC, QAM, DVB-T2/T/C2/C, ISDB-T/C, or DTMB format; an RF circuit unit that converts the RF signal processed by the frequency processing unit into an IF signal; an analog demodulation unit that operates when the TV format determined by the frequency processing unit is analog, demodulating the IF signal from the RF circuit unit according to the determined analog TV demodulation method; and a digital FEC decoder that operates when the TV format determined by the frequency processing unit is digital, decoding the IF signal from the RF circuit unit into a TS signal according to the determined digital TV decoding method. The tuner supports automatic channel setting by country, allowing for TV viewing in any region worldwide without additional devices, while reducing power consumption and noise figures and improving reception sensitivity.

Existing solutions in this field have structural and functional limitations that require improvement.

This technology can be applied to the relevant industry as a hybrid TV tuner to enhance performance and efficiency.

Key Features:
  • Frequency processing unit that receives an RF signal from an antenna and determines which of the multiple broadcast standards it follows
  • RF circuit unit that converts the processed RF signal into an IF signal for output
  • Analog demodulation unit that demodulates the IF signal according to the determined demodulation method when identified as analog
  • Digital FEC decoder that decodes the IF signal into a TS signal according to the determined decoding method when identified as digital
