Metal ion-bonded electrospinning solution composition for titanium dioxide nanofiber production and manufacturing method thereof

Listed on

Electrospinning solution composition for nanofibers refined to under 200nm using zinc chloride

This technology is an electrospinning solution composition incorporating ZnCl2 metal ions into a base composition of ethanol, PVP/PVA, and TTIP/ACAC in specific weight percentages, enabling the production of titanium dioxide nanofibers with diameters of 200nm or less.

Existing electrospinning solutions have struggled to refine nanofiber diameters to under 200nm, making it difficult to obtain the fine-diameter nanofibers required to enhance photocatalytic efficiency.

By incorporating ZnCl2 into the base composition at a specific ratio relative to the precursor to improve spinnability, this technology can be applied to the production of titanium dioxide nanofibers to achieve fine diameters of 200nm or less.

Key Features:
  • Base composition containing 75–87 wt% ethanol, 8.5–12 wt% polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP), and 0.4–2 wt% polyvinyl alcohol (PVA)
  • Base composition further comprising 2.5–8 wt% titanium tetraisopropoxide (TTIP) and 1.5–3 wt% acetylacetonate (ACAC)
  • ZnCl2 metal ions incorporated into the base composition at 10–20 wt% of the titanium tetraisopropoxide (TTIP) content to induce diameter refinement
  • Electrospinning solution composition for producing titanium dioxide nanofibers with diameters of 200nm or less through metal ion bonding
