Manufacturing method for embossing film using UV curing and double-sided embossing rollers

This technology is a method for manufacturing embossing film by coating, drying, and curing a UV-curable coating onto a base film, followed by heat softening and forming identical patterns on both sides using an embossing roller and a backup roller before cooling.

Existing embossing films often suffer from issues such as patterns being limited to one side or low pattern precision, making it difficult to form uniform, identical patterns on both sides.

By heat-softening the UV-curable coating and using an embossing roller and an elastic backup roller to shape both sides, this technology enables the uniform formation of identical double-sided patterns for decorative and functional films.

Key Features:
  • Coating process: Applying a 15–30㎛ thick UV-curable coating onto a 15–30㎛ thick base film.
  • Drying and curing process: Drying and curing the UV-curable coating applied to the base film.
  • Heating process: Heating the cured film to soften it for embossing.
  • Embossing process: Forming identical patterns on both sides of the softened film using an embossing roller and an elastic rubber backup roller.
