Water-curable joint filler composition formulated with plantain extract binder and elastic particles

This technology is a block joint filler composition that cures with water, formulated by combining silica sand with a binder made of plantain extract, water glass, and sodium carbonate, along with fluorinated wax, beads, and rubber-based components.

Existing block joint fillers are prone to cracking after installation or lack sufficient elasticity, creating a need for a filler that is easy to cure with water while offering durability and flexibility.

By combining silica sand with a natural binder, elastic beads, and rubber-based components to enable water-curing, this technology can be applied to block paving joints to reduce cracking and enhance durability.

Key Features:
  • Binder formulated at 5–10 parts by weight, containing plantain extract, water glass, and sodium carbonate based on 100 parts by weight of silica sand
  • Components formulated at 1–10 parts by weight, selected from one or more of the following: fluorinated wax, silicone beads, and urethane beads
  • Components formulated at 5–10 parts by weight, selected from one or more of the following: polybutadiene, synthetic polyisoprene, natural rubber, etc.
  • Water-curable joint filler composition based on silica sand and designed to be cured by water
