Non-fluorinated water-repellent composition incorporating a beading agent into organopolysiloxane sol

This technology is a non-fluorinated water-repellent surface treatment composition formulated by combining an organopolysiloxane sol—prepared from silicone precursors and crosslinking agents—with a fatty acid amide-based beading agent, an acid catalyst, and an aqueous solvent.

Fluorine-based water repellents pose environmental and safety concerns, and it has historically been difficult to achieve both high water repellency and effective beading (the ability of water droplets to roll off) without the use of fluorine.

By incorporating a beading agent into a non-fluorinated siloxane sol, this technology simultaneously enhances both water repellency and beading, providing an eco-friendly water-repellent solution for textile and surface treatment applications.
