This technology concerns a recombinant Corynebacterium species strain capable of producing biliverdin 9 alpha and a method for producing biliverdin 9 alpha using this strain.

Conventional biliverdin 9 alpha synthesis relied on chemical treatment, which caused environmental pollution.

The recombinant strain developed with this technology can environmentally synthesize biliverdin 9 alpha using only glucose, without the need for additional nitrogen sources, thereby replacing conventional chemical synthesis methods.
