Hydrogen Separation Membrane with Carbon Nanotube and Anodic Aluminum Oxide Composite Structure

This technology describes a composite gas separation membrane for hydrogen separation, comprising an anodic aluminum oxide layer, a carbon nanotube layer, and a polymer material that fills their pores, as well as its manufacturing method.

Conventional nano-membrane gas separation membranes have issues with low strength, difficult handling, and poor durability.

This technology fills a multi-layered porous structure with a polymer, providing high hydrogen selectivity along with excellent mechanical strength and durability, making it suitable for impurity gas filtration in hydrogen production processes.

Key Features:
  • Multi-layered structure of anodic aluminum oxide and carbon nanotube layers
  • Polymer material filling the pores
  • High hydrogen selectivity
  • Excellent mechanical strength and durability
