2D Coding Technology for Visible Light Communication Using LED Array and Rolling Shutter

This technology relates to a 2D coding method and apparatus for visible light communication. Specifically, it is a 2D coding technology for visible light communication using an LED array and a rolling shutter.

Conventional technologies faced the challenge of addressing the complexity of software and hardware cost issues in Optical Camera Communication (OCC) while simultaneously increasing data transmission speed. To overcome this, the present technology proposes a configuration that includes an LED array, a controller, and a complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor (CMOS) sensor for visible light communication.

Accordingly, this technology can improve data transmission capacity and speed in Optical Camera Communication (OCC) by encoding data in two dimensions using multiple vertical panels and a rolling shutter mechanism. It has practical value for applications in broadcasting, telecommunications, and electronic device sectors.

Key Features
  • Implements 2D coding technology for visible light communication using an LED array and a rolling shutter
  • Transmits and receives 2D codes by utilizing an LED array and the rolling shutter characteristics of an image sensor
  • Improves data transmission capacity and speed in Optical Camera Communication (OCC) by encoding data in two dimensions using multiple vertical panels and a rolling shutter mechanism
  • Applicable for improving communication infrastructure and service quality in the fields of telecommunications, broadcasting, and electronic devices
