Bus Boarding Request Management Technology Linking Smart Devices and Bus Stop Terminals

This technology concerns a hybrid bus boarding management system that allows bus users to convey their intention to board a desired bus. Specifically, it is a technology that links boarding request information among passengers, buses, and servers by utilizing both smart device apps and bus stop display terminals.

At existing bus stops, problems such as missing buses could occur due to multiple buses approaching simultaneously or passengers' intention to board not being clearly communicated to the driver. To address this, this technology proposes a method for integrated management of bus location, number of boarding requests, and boarding attempt information by linking display terminals, smart devices, bus boarding management servers, and SNS/big data servers.

Accordingly, this technology can more rationally support passengers' waiting for boarding and bus departure decisions, and can be expanded to enhance public transport operational efficiency, smart bus stops, and location-based lifestyle information services.

Key Features
  • Conveys boarding requests for specific buses via smart device apps or bus stop terminals.
  • Integrates bus location and passenger request information on the server to support boarding wait and departure decisions.
  • Compares the number of requests from multiple passengers with actual boarding attempt information to manage bus stop congestion.
  • Applicable to smart bus stops, public transport operating platforms, and location-based information services.
