Feed with improved omega fatty acid ratios formulated from sweet sorghum and oats

This technology is a feed composition formulated with specific weight proportions of sweet sorghum, oats, additional ingredients such as grains, salt, minerals, and calcium carbonate, and probiotics.

Conventional feed makes it difficult to achieve the recommended ratio of omega-3 to omega-6 fatty acids in livestock products, creating a need for low-cost feed with enhanced health functionality.

By feeding livestock this composition, which utilizes low-cost ingredients like sweet sorghum, oats, and probiotics, the omega fatty acid ratio in livestock products can be improved to meet WHO-recommended levels.

Key Features:
  • Sweet sorghum included at 20–40 parts by weight per 100 parts of the feed composition to improve fatty acid ratios
  • Oats included at 6–8 parts by weight per 100 parts of the feed composition to serve as roughage
  • Additional ingredients included at 20–55 parts by weight, consisting of one or more of the following: grains, salt, minerals, and calcium carbonate
  • Probiotics included at 0.5–1.5 parts by weight per 100 parts of the feed composition to facilitate fermentation and maturation of the mixture
