Method and Device for Conjunctival In-Vivo Cellular Imaging Using Fluoroquinolone Antibiotics

This technology is a conjunctival in-vivo cellular imaging method and device that stains and fluorescently images conjunctival goblet cells using fluoroquinolone antibiotics such as moxifloxacin, and a method for providing ocular lesion information using this technology.

Existing goblet cell diagnostic methods had limitations, as they caused conjunctival damage and provided low-contrast images.

This technology uses single-photon excitation fluorescence imaging to obtain high-contrast images of goblet cells without causing conjunctival damage, and is utilized for ocular lesion detection and therapeutic efficacy evaluation.

Key Features:
  • Staining of conjunctival goblet cells using fluoroquinolone antibiotics
  • Light illumination step by the light source
  • Single-photon excitation fluorescence imaging
  • Provision of ocular lesion information without conjunctival damage
